Today may be known as 'Blue Monday' (apparently the most depressing day of the year) but here at Bluebella, we're taking things into our own hands. We're going to unofficially call today BlueBELLA Monday as we have just launched our brand new Spring/Summer 2016 collection and if that's not a good reason to help banish the January Blues then we don't know what is!
We're so excited to be able to share with you the first drop from our new range as we look forward to a new year and new season, as we move from an opulent Autumn/Winter season through to a fresh SS16 range, inspired by innocence and indiscretion. Below we give you an exclusive look into some of our personal favourites so what are you waiting for? Get banishing those January Blues!
GIA
For the SS16 collection, we've focused on expressing dramatic sensuality through soft satins, sheer mesh and contemporary lace, creating an air of mystery and allure to the lingerie looks you'll be choosing for the season ahead. The Gia is the perfect style to kick us off. A sumptuous style, the Gia bra and briefs set is a lightweight look ideal for balmy summer evenings. Its sophisticated halterneck shape makes its own style statement and together with the decoration of luxe lace dancing over your modesty, the Gia is a fashion-forward look as well as a seductive style choice. We also focused on a confident colour palette to create a directional range that meant every product complimented each other, using captivating golds and perfect pastels in harmony with darker hues. The Tala is one of our favourite styles that combines all of these colour stories. A must-have for your SS16 wardrobe, the eye-catching embellishment of the gold metallic lace detail laid over the stylish sheer mesh will ensure all eyes are on you. The delicate scalloped hem further adds sophistication whilst the low-cut back adds a flirtatious feel. Almost too good just to wear behind closed doors...

of the BBC's Sound of 2016, singer-songwriter Dua Lipa has certainly
kicked off the year in the right way. Born in London, the 20 year old
was raised on Bob Dylan and David Bowie and her first record she
purchased was Nelly Furtado (remember her?!) Securing a modelling
contract a few years ago was the start in her journey and in 2012 she
began uploading her original tracks onto Soundcloud. It wasn't long
before she caught the attention of non other than Lana Del Rey's
managers, who immediately signed her up and started her up with
collaborating with the likes of Bruno Mars and, of course, Lana Del Rey.
We love her deep, smokey and pop-filled sounds and her current track Be
The One is full of fun and fresh beats - just what we need to beat the
January Blues! Look out for her first

doesn't feel like two minutes ago since it was London 2012 and what a
summer that was! It's hard to imagine ever finding another Olympics
quite so exciting when it's not on your doorstep BUT if London 2012 did
one thing for pretty much everyone, it was to show us that every man and
his dog - whether a sports lover or not - could fully enjoy the games
and reap the benefits. Kicking off on Friday 5th August in Brazil's Rio
de Janeiro, we can't wait to see what the incredible Team GB can do once
again. Stella McCartney is responsible once again for ensuring the
sports starts look and feel their best as she exclusively designs the
Team GB 2016 kit and we're excited to see what the likes of Dina
Asher-Smith, Jessica Ennis-Hill, swimmer Lucy Hall and boxer Nicola
Adams will all bring and whether they'll walk away with the Gold. For
us, it's sure to bring a summer-filled fun-fest with friends as everyone
gets together to watch - we can't wait!
As
more of us strive for a less stressful life, more and more of us are
taking up creative and crafty hobbies in a bid to enjoy precious 'me'
time that doesn't just involve sitting infront of the TV for a marathon
Netflix session. Having a hobby is not only on the rise, but it is also
good for your mental health PLUS means that if you have a class booked
in for 6pm every Tuesday, there's no excuses to stay behind at work.
We're big fans of photography and learning how to create gorgeous images
with a semi-professional camera (and not just our iPhone!). Other
hobbies that more and more of us are turning to include floristry, life
drawing and even ballroom dancing. And there isn't a better time than
the start of the year to kick off with something fresh!
And
of course, it wouldn't be a Hot List without a little look at what the
fashion world will bring us this year. With London Fashion Week AW16
next month, it won't be long before next winter's trends are revealed
but we can only just about deal with this winter at the moment! If we
look ahead to the Spring/Summer season, we'll see trends such as the
dainty slip-on (yes, of the Nightwear variety) making an outerwear
comeback, soft gingham, vivid prints, exciting ruffles and graphic
stripes being style staples for the summer months. We can't wait!
Last week was Bluebella's AW16 photoshoot and having designed what we feel is our most gorgeously amazing collection to date - we wanted to get even more ambitious in how we created imagery to accompany it.
Sadly for our brave model, the idea that hatched from our creative little minds was to set our imagery on the windswept and wintery banks of the Thames. We loved the idea of an urban beach with a cityscape in the background, of bare trees creating organic shapes that reflect the collection with a touch of winter sun creating beautifully crisp silhouettes.
Alisa our photographer, furry hood firmly up, captured stunning moments and turned the wintery light into the most beautiful scenes. And our model, the extraordinarily professional and lovely Eva kept smiling right until the last shot despite the freezing temperatures, whilst the dynamic duo of Nikki and Lara somehow managed to keep hair and make-up in check despite the unforgiving winds.
Our only disappointment? That you'll have to wait until next season to see the results! But fear not, the equally stunning Spring/Summer '16 shoot imagery will be unveiled in all its glory very soon indeed...

It's no secret - our hair takes a beating during the winter months. With the harsh winds and cold temperatures, hair can often frizz and become dry, damaged and lack-lustre - not a good combo. To help keep hair hydrated, the Kerastase Masque Nutri-Thermique is our top pick. This hydrating hair mask is activated by heat providing your hair with the deepest form of nourishment to lock in moisture for those blustery days. What's more, make sure you treat yourself to a salon session every so often as freshly cut locks can help with keeping your hair luscious and ready for the party season.
Everyone needs a moisturising lip balm, especially when it's chilly outside. There is nothing worse than cracked and painful lips, plus it makes it all the more harder to apply lipstick evenly. So, how do we beat dry lips? We suggest the Kiehl's Facial Fuel No-Shine Moisturising Lip Balm - it's guaranteed to help you with those pesky puckers. Another tip is to gently exfoliate dry lips regularly so that you are keeping them as fresh as possible. Another great tip is when it comes to make-up time, at the beginning of application always use a lip balm so lips can soak up the moisturising goodness before you put lipstick anywhere near them. By the time you come around to the lips, they will be perfectly positioned for lipstick application!
There is no fighting it; dry hands are just another winter side effect. Make sure you moisturise your hands day and night, just as you do with your face (that's a great anti-ageing tip too!). Our favourite is the one and only L'Occitane Shea Butter Cream for Dry Skin. Currently sold around the world every three seconds, it is clearly a big hit. Treat yourself to a manicure too and you'll have hands you won't want to cover up with gloves!
The big trend in beauty at the moment is oil, used as a super hydrator for lack-lustre skin. With a luxurious feel, using an oil can make you feel like you're in your own beauty salon and is a relaxing addition to any beauty routine. We like Caudalie Divine Oil as it has a rich combination of moisturising oils, leaving your skin silky smooth. The tip is to use oils sparingly before you moisturise and this helps lock in the moisturiser when you apply. Oils are also multi-functional and are great for nails, hair and the body as well as the face. We love an all-round hit!
