THE TOP TRENDS EMERGING FROM LFW SS16

London Fashion Week is done and dusted for another season so we take a look at the emerging top trends...

London Fashion Week is done and dusted for another season. Following a frantic few days highlighting the best of what London-based designers have to offer to the cream of the crop in the industry, we can now take a quick look at the sorts of trends that will be influencing our style come next Spring.
Here's a handful of just some of the key trends to come out of the past week...

LACE

We were delighted to see lace having its moment on many of the catwalks this past week. Being lingerie connoisseurs, lace naturally plays a heavy part in what we do but it's refreshing to see it worked into fashion in more obvious ways. While Burberry and Topshop Unique kept the look classic with an array of different blacks, other designers took lace to the next level. Christopher Kane and Preen gave lace a new lease of life by injecting bursts of yellows, oranges and greens. We love!

POP ART

With many people huge lovers of pop art, you'll no doubt be excited to see it arrive in style on the catwalks too. JW Anderson led the pack with his vibrant take on what he called 'intergalactic Olympics', with cosmic shapes meeting sports-luxe nods. There were lots of statement shapes with angular squiggle prints slapped onto super-sized shoulders. A trend for those who definitely don't want to be a wallflower...

RUFFLES

It may sound like an odd trend but it's not as strange as it sounds. Gone are slinky and sleek shapes, this season many designers were opting for airy, billowing and dramatic shapes - all in the form of ruffles. Mary Katrantzou ruled the trend with show-stopping peplums and tumbling frills, whereas Erdem debuted gentle ruffles in delicate pastel shades. We can see some beautiful evening dresses coming out of this trend!

HARNESSES

Well, if there was a trend that could get us more excited than lace it is certainly harnesses being spotted as a key look for the Spring/Summer season! It was Simone Rocha, daughter of John Rocha, who achieved a beautiful balance of soft femininity contrasted with structured crossover straps, trimmed with plastic embellishment. At Paul Smith, the look was achieved through a mix of angular jackets and loose-fitting dresses tied at the waist. It will be interesting to see how this will develop on the High Street!

STRIPES

Tending to always stay on trend, it wasn't surprising to see stripes leading the way again this season. This time, they are bigger and bolder with bright injections of colour making them really pop. Jonathan Saunders and Gareth Pugh both opted for ravenous red while JS Lee worked with gregarious greens. Most stripes were vertical this time too, making it an all-round easier trend to wear.

UNDERWEAR AS OUTERWEAR: HOW TO WEAR IT

CELEBS ARE LEADING THE WAY WITH THIS SEASON'S HOTTEST TREND...

Underwear as Outerwear has never been so loved but... how to wear it?

As lingerie lovers we always get a little too excited when we spot a celeb showing off their stylish bra choices and it's something we've been noticing more and more. As the Underwear as Outerwear trend continues to evolve each season, Autumn/Winter '15 looks like it's bringing a whole new dimension to the look... the question is, how far would you go?
From all-out show stoppers like FKA Twigs to subtly sheer styles like Taylor Schilling, we show you how to make your Bluebella lingerie go that extra mile...

RITA ORA

Rita was spotted this summer making her plunge bra the centre of attention. Wearing a sheer high-neck long-sleeved top gives the whole look a chic and luxe feel about it, meaning that you can still show off your bra in effortless style. To pull off Rita's look, pick our Angelina Style - one of this season's most confident styles with its smoothly moulded shape and statement strapping.

FKA TWIGS

FKA Twigs is without doubt one of the most talked about style icons of recent times and her outfit choice at the VMAs certainly confirmed that. Never one to shy away, her boudoir inspired cut-out dress exposes black corset boning that tumbles down into a sheer skirt. Want to emulate Twigs' statement style? Opt for our exclusive Fifty Shades of Grey Black Label Chiffon Body and wrap yourself in the erotic strapping any way you want. Team with a black floor-length skirt for an elegant finishing touch.

TAYLOR SCHILLING

Orange Is The New Black star Taylor Schilling is almost unrecognisable out of her orange jumpsuit but she certainly wears black well here! She muses the ultimate evening look and this is definitely a style to copy if you want to wear the Underwear as Outerwear trend more subtly. Take our Fifty Shades of Grey Soft Triangle Bra, which has a similarly stylish structure and is bold enough to keep you covered up underneath a delicate sheer shirt.

KYLIE JENNER

Kylie made an appearance this week at New York Fashion Week in a slick and stylish trouser suit but added a touch of sexiness to it with a simple black bandeau. Dare to change up your office-to-bar look? Wear our Selena sheer bandeau with a plain black one underneath and you instantly have an easy, fashion-forward take on the Underwear as Outerwear trend!

CIARA

Ciara really knows how to work the trend here as she flaunts her gorgeous figure at a New York Fashion Week show. Oozing confidence, she plays a bold move in a fitted Body with a long line overlay draped over the top and killer knee high boots. Whether you dare to wear this in full or take inspiration from parts of it, our Lottie Body is the ultimate garment to replicate this look with its provocative modern styling.

THE BEST DIGITAL FOOD FAIRIES TO FOLLOW

FOODIE INSPIRATION? LOOK NO FURTHER...

As much as we love lingerie, it's probably fair to say that we love good food just as much...

As much as we love lingerie, it's probably fair to say we love good food here at Bluebella HQ (almost) just as much. We love new, exciting and healthy bites to eat but also, of course, will never say no to a little treat and we're always on the look out for ways to jazz up our kitchen skills.
And consequently, we've found there's no better way to discover the latest recipes and food trends than on Instagram. Whilst you obviously can't beat a good old stack of recipe books, more and more digital 'Food Fairies' are popping up and answering all our prayers - providing quick, fun, colourful and healthy ways to look like a complete pro in the kitchen. Here's a selection of our favourites...

HEMSLEY  & HEMSLEY

Jasmine and Melissa Hemsley are an inspiring cooking sister duo. Not only do they provide the social media world with tips, tricks and recipes to create healthy, nutrient-dense recipes but they also provide recipes all free from gluten, grains and refined sugars. The sisters are proud contributors to Vogue and The Guardian and also consult for celebrities such as Vivienne Westwood. Ideal if you either want to be more consciously healthy or need a gluten-free diet; either way - you won't lose the fun in food.

DELICIOUSLY ELLA

A truly inspirational foodie, Ella Woodward first started her food blog back in 2011, after becoming ill with a rare illness. Conventional medicine wasn't working and so Ella decided to turn a negative into a positive and hunt out healthy remedies to try combat her illness. She overhauled her diet by teaching herself cooking and thanks to a healthy eating programme, she turned her life around. Now a fully-fledged foodie, Ella prides herself on colourful and original easy-to-make recipes that have all the health benefits and all of the flavour. Oh, and she's a best-selling author and Telegraph columnist, so she certainly knows her stuff!

MERINGUE GIRLS

Alex Hoffler and Stacey O'Gorman had a dream to have their own food company after they had both worked in the industry previously. Having met in a Hackney kitchen, the rest was history. Knowing they needed to find their niche (and stay away from cupcakes!), they settled upon meringues, creating unique pieces of food-art bursting full of colour, flavour and above all else, fun. Now with a huge Instagram following, the girls provide followers with mouth-wateringly good visuals of just how creative you can get in the kitchen if a sweet tooth is your thing. Stocked in Harrods, Selfridges, the girls also write cookbooks and teach masterclasses - phew!
