London Fashion Week is done and dusted for another season. Following a frantic few days highlighting the best of what London-based designers have to offer to the cream of the crop in the industry, we can now take a quick look at the sorts of trends that will be influencing our style come next Spring.
Here's a handful of just some of the key trends to come out of the past week...
LACE
We were delighted to see lace having its moment on many of the catwalks this past week. Being lingerie connoisseurs, lace naturally plays a heavy part in what we do but it's refreshing to see it worked into fashion in more obvious ways. While Burberry and Topshop Unique kept the look classic with an array of different blacks, other designers took lace to the next level. Christopher Kane and Preen gave lace a new lease of life by injecting bursts of yellows, oranges and greens. We love!

POP ART
With many people huge lovers of pop art, you'll no doubt be excited to see it arrive in style on the catwalks too. JW Anderson led the pack with his vibrant take on what he called 'intergalactic Olympics', with cosmic shapes meeting sports-luxe nods. There were lots of statement shapes with angular squiggle prints slapped onto super-sized shoulders. A trend for those who definitely don't want to be a wallflower...

RUFFLES
It may sound like an odd trend but it's not as strange as it sounds. Gone are slinky and sleek shapes, this season many designers were opting for airy, billowing and dramatic shapes - all in the form of ruffles. Mary Katrantzou ruled the trend with show-stopping peplums and tumbling frills, whereas Erdem debuted gentle ruffles in delicate pastel shades. We can see some beautiful evening dresses coming out of this trend!

HARNESSES
Well, if there was a trend that could get us more excited than lace it is certainly harnesses being spotted as a key look for the Spring/Summer season! It was Simone Rocha, daughter of John Rocha, who achieved a beautiful balance of soft femininity contrasted with structured crossover straps, trimmed with plastic embellishment. At Paul Smith, the look was achieved through a mix of angular jackets and loose-fitting dresses tied at the waist. It will be interesting to see how this will develop on the High Street!

STRIPES
Tending to always stay on trend, it wasn't surprising to see stripes leading the way again this season. This time, they are bigger and bolder with bright injections of colour making them really pop. Jonathan Saunders and Gareth Pugh both opted for ravenous red while JS Lee worked with gregarious greens. Most stripes were vertical this time too, making it an all-round easier trend to wear.
