Tiger's Glastonbury

Tigerlily Taylor, our girl on the ground at Glasto

Festival season is well under way, that much is true, but if a few of your friends have booked a whole week off work and seemed to be skulking out early doors there’s just one place they’ll be this week: Glastonbury. The festival of dreams, which takes place yearly on the Summer solstice, is taking place this week, and while your friends might just be starting their adventure, most of the crew will have been there since Monday morning.
Almost a town in itself, Glastonbury is so big it’s almost impossible to see all of it, even if you return year after year, but that doesn’t matter. Finding yourself lost in the music of the Piano Bar or caught up in the energy the headliners bring to the Pyramid Stage makes the festival an experience in itself. Once you go, you go forever and that seems to be the case too for the delightful Tigerlily Taylor, the Bluebella babe who rates Glastonbury as her all-time favourite place to festival this summer.

Who are you most looking forward to seeing play?
I am really excited to see Foo Fighters again, I have seen them so many times but they are always awesome.
Also at Glastonbury: Toots and the Maytals, Chic, Afriquoi, The Flamings Lips, Goldie, DJ Shadow... I'm sure there are many more that I can't think of right now.
 Hottest up and coming band?
The Darkness!
 Best festival for food?
I literally eat trash all weekend at festivals so I'm not too fussed about overpriced festival food! Although I did have a really good ostrich burger at Isle of Wight festival last year.
 Best festival for fashion?
I generally wear very comfortable clothes, a lot of tracksuits, shorts and t-shirts but I am looking forward to incorporating some sexy Bluebella lingerie into my outfits this year. Glastonbury is probably the maddest in terms of outfits.

 Top tip for festival season?
Always carry wet wipes, hand sanitiser, a disposable camera and water. Carry a small backpack.
Your festival style would be described as….
Casual, comfortable, but this year I am going to step up my outfit game a little.

If you ran your own festival the headline act would be…
TLC (I heard that T-Boz and Chilli just had a reunion in London), Freddie Gibbs, Action Bronson, Lil Ugly Mane, MF Doom, Wu Tang Clan, Led Zeppelin would be amazing. I have always wanted to see Rage Against the Machine, Blink 182 and Red Hot Chilli Peppers as well... that's a hard one. Too many to narrow down!
 Favourite Glastonbury memory?
Seeing Wu Tang Clan in 2011 and The Who last year with my boyfriend.
 Camp or glamp?
Camp... but glamp if someone threw a teepee my way.
 Your Glastonbury happy place?
The Rabbit Hole. It's very secret and always full of amazing music, friends and family

Tigerlily is a dream at creating the perfect festival look, but packing needn’t be that hard! Although Glasto is renowned for being muddy, the weather looks scorching this weekend so it’s best to pack as little as possible, and what’s lighter than a bit of lovely lingerie? Check out Bluebella for the perfect cheeky bralettes, bodies and chemises to take your wardrobe game from 1 to 100.
 Happy festivaling gorgey gang!

Bluebella's Coachella Chica - Ashley James

Festival season has begun with the infamous sun-drenched fash' fest in the Californian heat, and we had our very own Coachella chica on the scene!
One half of Bittersweet DJs, presenter and ex-MIC star Ashley James was hand in hand with Bluebella throughout the craziness of the Coachella ride.
We caught up with Ashley between the likes of Drake and Kendrick Lamar on how she built her DJ career plus her hot tips for summer's hottest beats. Soak it in like the California heat and prepare to impress your friends with your music mastery...!

How did you get into DJing?
I've always been passionate about music, and controlling of the music at any house parties I went to, so I took some lessons and found my favourite hobby. I now DJ as a duo with my best friend and fellow presenter Charlotte de Carle under the name BitterSweet DJs.
What kind of tunes do you spin?
I'm really into hip hop, r&b, and grime, both new and old, from Missy Elliot, to J Hus and Giggs. It depends on the crowd though, I tend to vibe off the audience, so every gig is different.
What’s it like working with your best mate?
It's a dream! I can't believe our hobby has turned into a job and we get to travel the world together.

What’s been your best gig ever?
I always remember our first gig as a duo in our local pub. No one danced but it was such a scary and big milestone for us. Also the Global Gift Gala is a highlight. Most recently we played in the Teatro in Madrid to a crowd including Eva Longoria; it's the second time the Teatro has been used for a private event, the first was for the Queen!
What’s been your worst gig ever?
Well, there has been gigs where we've turned up and the equipment hasn't worked! But honestly I don't think you can have a bad gig in terms of experience as you just learn and get better.
What’s your top tip for this summer’s hottest track?
I'm a huge fan of the Calvin Harris track with Migos and Frank Ocean. I listen to it over and over!
Who is your favourite DJ?
Charlotte of course! No, in all seriousness I'm in awe of loads of DJs. Calvin Harris and Chase & Status are both legendary live.
Which festivals will you be visiting this summer?
Well I'm currently writing this from Coachella, which is one that's been on my bucket list for years. Glastonbury and Wireless are definitely happening this year - Wireless is literally my dream lineup. And we're going out to Fresh Island Festival in Croatia!

Any advice for budding bedroom DJs out there?
Just keep practicing and put your mixes online as you never know who might listen! Don't be afraid to take jobs where you can get them (even in your local pub), as the more you put yourself out there the most likely you are to get booked!

Bluebella Loves Bestival

Our current competition is all about BESTIVAL! We're giving one lucky winner a pair of weekend camping tickets - just simply enter here. Not that you needed any persuasion, but we thought we'd put together our favourite things of Bestival and why we think you'll love it just as much as we do... Good luck!

Awesome Line-Up

The line-up as usual is incredible with an eclectic mix of artists including Years & Years, Major Lazer, Hot Chip, Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox plus many more. With hundreds more to mention, it's set to be an incredible weekend catering for all music tastes - from established DJs to underground bands, you'll definitely find something for you!

The Atmosphere

Bestival has earned a reputation as one of the most fun and liberating festivals around, and you'll totally see why when you get there. Its energy is incredible and everyone is super friendly. There's so much more than just the music too - amazing food, comedy and crafts mean that there's so much to do that will keep everyone occupied.

Not All About The Music

The festival offers a whole range of comedy, crafts and lots of weird and wonderful stuff to get your teeth into. The infamous Chuckle Brothers are hosting their very own show, there's hot tubs, yoga and even an underwear UV glow party (yep you read that right).

Food

Food is a pretty big thing for us so we want our festivals to provide the very best in street food... and boy, will you be treated at Bestival! The Best Beauty Festival Looks

Festival Beauty

We love a good festival! And even more, we love dressing up and getting ready for a festival. We've spent the summer admiring some of the hottest beauty looks around and thought we'd put together some of our fave looks so you have some inspo for the rest of the festival season. From stand-out bloggers (we LOVE Sophie's style, above) to MUA tips, where will your festival beauty looks take you?
Team the Gia with dazzling blue lips and hair just like Sophie Richardson and you have yourself an super stand-out festival look in no time. If your hair isn't actually dyed, you can grab temporary glitter and colour sprays and you instantly have different hair by the day... a colour for each festival we say!
Fashion blogger Saranda Reci looks gorgeous in the Aria and cut-off denim. Channel her Boho-chic look by keeping make-up simple but adding accessories to your hair. A slick of nude lipstick will do just the trick!
Nothing says festival ready like a good set of rings and on-point nails! We love blogger Em Sheldon's look - her perfect pink nails are a great way to bring about some femininity to your festival look. Her rings are her own brand called LVNDR and we love them!
When the sun beats down whilst your dancing... there's probably nothing better! Make sure you keep cool and chic by keeping your hair out of your face. We love In The Frow's gorgeous and full ponytail and oversized sunnies - an easy way to look super stylish!
All this talk about festivals, have you heard about our exclusive Bluebella Loves competition? We've got a pair of Weekend Camping Tickets for Bestival to give away to one lucky winner! All you have to do is sign up to our mailing list to enter, it takes no time at all!

Bluebella at Lovebox - our summer festival look inspo

Our amazing Bluebella girls went to enjoy a fantastic sunny day at Lovebox and fell head over heels for all the amazing festival looks styled with lingerie.
With summer in full swing the best way to enjoy a sunny festival is to combine your shorts with some lingerie to channel the festival spirit. Stay chic but deliberately eccentric with our best festival pieces.
Take inspiration from our amazing team and if you are feeling extra stylish tag us in your Bluebella Instas with #mybluebella.
The Claudia Shirt in Ivory can be the perfect throw on for any look, and will instantly make you feel extra comfy. Regardless of how rough your tent situation is ;)

The Emily top (coming August 2016) can be a perfect finishing touch to your look to compliment your figure and let your skin absorb that extra bit of sun.

If you prefer a more discreet peek at you favourite Bluebella pieces you can wear the Shiloh (coming August 2016) underneath your favourite summer shirt to perfectly capture attention. Alternatively show off the Gia as a statement piece of perfect festival inspired lace.

If you are lucky enough to escape the gloomy British weather and enjoy some sunshine near a beach while chilling to some music the Sephy and Jessica (coming August 2016) are the perfect chemises to thrown on for a simple instantly finished look. Pair with some cute sunnies and a smile.

We also met some new fabulous friends rocking out their lingerie. Here are our suggestions on how to recreate these looks and make it all Bluebella.

For a classy compliment to a white shirt and denim short look you can go for the Ella soft cup bra and wear it to show it off!

For a more daring look pair the Julianna top with a long skirt and rock it to some great tunes in the sun.

Even guys love rocking some nightwear for extra comfort. Check out this fabulous look that can be made Bluebella with a Claudia shirt or for a softer look choose the Abigail in pink.

THE BLUEBELLA FESTIVAL PLANNER

GET YOUR FESTIVAL FIX

We give you the low down on where we'll be heading this summer...

With Coachella officially kicking off the season recently, we couldn't be more excited for this summer's jam-packed schedule of festivals! It used to be all about muddy fields and warm cider but in recent years, the festival industry as a whole has really stepped it up a notch. Top quality music just isn't enough these days -  think bespoke cocktails, creative art installations and super lush chill out areas that all take the festival experience to a whole other level.
Here's our pick of our favourites for the summer ahead. Where will you be going?

LOST VILLAGE

If you're looking for a musical experience like no other, then Lost Village is most definitely for you. One of the first ones to kick off the UK calendar, the Lincolnshire-based festival takes place over the Spring Bank Holiday at the end of May and offers an eclectic mix of DJs and live acts, as well as a whole range of other experiences including street food from around the world, a tribal banquet, a theatre and, for when it all gets too much, a lake of tranquility complete with hot tubs, yoga sessions and massages. Lush!

FIELD DAY

If you're in London, then Victoria Park's Field Day is one of the best the capital has to offer. Taking place over the weekend of 11th & 12th June, this city-based festival is perfect if you don't fancy camping overnight. With a relaxed and friendly attitude, it's one of our favourite festivals to head to each summer and because it's small, you'll always find your way around. Big names include PJ Harvey, James Blake, Four Tet, Mystery Jets, Youth Lagoon and lots more. Get ready to party afterwards too as lots is put on nearby.
GLASTONBURY
We couldn't not mention Glastonbury in our top picks but this festival needs no introduction. Towards the end of June, you'll either be heading there or it'll feel like everyone you know is heading there. If you were one of those lucky enough to get a ticket then you're in for a treat. With a tag line of 'if in doubt, just wander', you'll never be stuck for somewhere to go. Practically a small town, there are so many worlds to discover, artists to listen to and experiences to explore that once you're lost in the wonder of Glastonbury, you'll never want to leave. With the big players like Adele, Coldplay and Foals on the bill with hundreds more artists on around the festival, we love going off to the fringes and exploring the music you thought you'd never discover!

 LOVEBOX

Another for the city dwellers, Love Box is a burst of colour, energy and above all, FUN. Lovebox started back in 2002, hatched out of what was initially a club party before moving onto to Clapham Common. One of the original inner city festivals, it eventually moved to its home of Victoria Park 11 years ago and has grown ever since. With a genre-defying line-up of DJs, live bands, art, performance and dance, this is most definitely the place to be for a proper party...

GREEN MAN

So much more than a festival, Green Man is one to head to if you're looking for a festival with a difference. Set in the breathtakingly beautiful setting of the Brecon Beacons, this eco-friendly festival focuses on film, comedy, food as well as a huge line-up of talent including Warpaint, Wild Beasts, Cate Le Bon and tons more. We love the interactive art installations and tranquil waterside spots... it's the perfect balance of partying and chilling!
Stay tuned for our Festival Fashion guide, coming soon...
