THE VALENTINE'S GENTLEMAN GUIDE

WANT TO FIND THE PERFECT LINGERIE FOR HER THIS VALENTINE'S?

Look no further, help is at hand!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and it's the perfect excuse to treat your lady to something special. Whether she forns over flowers or romanticises about candlelit meals, there's one thing for certain... she lusts over lingerie and this is the occasion to wow her with something she'll love wearing and you'll love taking off.
But here at Bluebella HQ, we know that shopping for your better half can be stressful, especially when it comes to buying lingerie... however it doesn't need to be. Simply follow our step-by-step guide and you'll be her lingerie expert in no time...

SIZE

It's super easy to find out what her size is. When she's not about have a quick look in her lingerie drawer and have a look at the sizing label which will detail 30B, 32B etc - that's your size right there. It's important to stick to the size that you see in her drawer because then you know that the bra should fit perfectly. Bluebella's sizing varies depending on the style so make sure you take this into account too. For example, a traditional bra style will be listed in the standard 30B way but for products which are halternecks or sports-luxe styles, these are often listed as S, M, L so make sure you know her dress size too. Typically a Small is 8 - 10, a Medium 10 - 12 and Large 12 - 14. If you're still a little unsure, we also have a very hand sizing guide right here!

STYLE

Now you know her size, what style do you go for? The first place to look again is in her lingerie drawer and familiarize yourself with the sorts of shapes and styles she likes wearing. Does she have a penchant for plunge or a softness for strapless? The styles she likes are a good place to start because you can be confident that not only will it suit her but she'll adore it, too. It's always an added bonus to opt for a matching bra and briefs set (after all, a treat like that is what makes Valentine's so special) so have a look at the shape of knicker she likes to wear. Is she a thong addict or a Brazilian buff? If you're not sure what all the style terminology means, don't worry! All our bras are categorised so you can have a look at what defines a plunge from a balconette easily. Once you have narrowed down the style, the fun starts...

SUBSTANCE

Now on to the good stuff... you've got the size and the style, so what about the substance? Whether she's a lace lover or a satin sweetheart, we have lots of different pieces that she's bound to love so don't fret if you're not sure. Traditional materials like lace adorn many of our styles, from the romantic Cara to the fashion-forward, edgier style of Giaas does sumptuous satin (try our range of Satin Kimonos orRaya  style). But if you think she'll like something different, opt for fashion-forward material such as mesh, metallic lace and even cut-out detail. TheBlake is a perfect option for style conscious girls with its contrasting panel work, as is the the Tala with its dramatic gold metallic lace.

SPIRIT

The last thing to remember is spirit... and by this we mean is she romantic, erotic, seductive or passionate? The right lingerie can be very important to ensuring her inner-most spirit comes out! A romantic personality will like soft, feminine shapes and sumptuous satins like the Julianna  are perfect.  If you think she'll want to ignite her indulgent side, then the Vivienne with its beautiful bow detail is the one for her. If she likes bringing out her erotic style then our beautifully shaped Ouvert bras will be much loved. Our signature style of the Nova is a delicate open-bust bra whilst the new Luna (pictured) is a provocative take on contemporary style. Team these both with open briefs for the ultimate bedroom passion...

SHOP!

Now have a browse on Bluebella.com to find that perfect Valentine's gift... she won't be disappointed!

LONDON FASHION WEEK SS16

THE TOP TRENDS EMERGING FROM LFW SS16

Picture Cred: London Evening Standard
London Fashion Week is done and dusted for another season so we take a look at the emerging top trends...

London Fashion Week is done and dusted for another season. Following a frantic few days highlighting the best of what London-based designers have to offer to the cream of the crop in the industry, we can now take a quick look at the sorts of trends that will be influencing our style come next Spring.
Here's a handful of just some of the key trends to come out of the past week...

LACE

We were delighted to see lace having its moment on many of the catwalks this past week. Being lingerie connoisseurs, lace naturally plays a heavy part in what we do but it's refreshing to see it worked into fashion in more obvious ways. While Burberry and Topshop Unique kept the look classic with an array of different blacks, other designers took lace to the next level. Christopher Kane and Preen gave lace a new lease of life by injecting bursts of yellows, oranges and greens. We love!

POP ART

With many people huge lovers of pop art, you'll no doubt be excited to see it arrive in style on the catwalks too. JW Anderson led the pack with his vibrant take on what he called 'intergalactic Olympics', with cosmic shapes meeting sports-luxe nods. There were lots of statement shapes with angular squiggle prints slapped onto super-sized shoulders. A trend for those who definitely don't want to be a wallflower...

RUFFLES

It may sound like an odd trend but it's not as strange as it sounds. Gone are slinky and sleek shapes, this season many designers were opting for airy, billowing and dramatic shapes - all in the form of ruffles. Mary Katrantzou ruled the trend with show-stopping peplums and tumbling frills, whereas Erdem debuted gentle ruffles in delicate pastel shades. We can see some beautiful evening dresses coming out of this trend!

HARNESSES

Well, if there was a trend that could get us more excited than lace it is certainly harnesses being spotted as a key look for the Spring/Summer season! It was Simone Rocha, daughter of John Rocha, who achieved a beautiful balance of soft femininity contrasted with structured crossover straps, trimmed with plastic embellishment. At Paul Smith, the look was achieved through a mix of angular jackets and loose-fitting dresses tied at the waist. It will be interesting to see how this will develop on the High Street!

STRIPES

Tending to always stay on trend, it wasn't surprising to see stripes leading the way again this season. This time, they are bigger and bolder with bright injections of colour making them really pop. Jonathan Saunders and Gareth Pugh both opted for ravenous red while JS Lee worked with gregarious greens. Most stripes were vertical this time too, making it an all-round easier trend to wear.

THE AUTUMN/WINTER TRENDS YOU'LL BE WEARING

NEXT SEASON'S KEY LOOKS

As Autumn/Winter collections start hitting the shops, what trends will you be wearing?

It's hard to believe that in a matter of weeks, we'll be waving goodbye to summer and saying hello once again to chunky knits, ankle boots and cosy nights in with a glass of wine. Whilst, of course, we are going to enjoy EVERY last minute of summer, in the grand old name of fashion, we've rounded up the top Autumn/Winter trends that you're soon going to see filter into the shops as the leaves start turning... But which one will you go for?

SEVENTIES

Thought that the Seventies was just a summer fling? Think again - the flares are staying put. Whether you're a bohemian babe or more of an uptown 70's chic, there will be something to suit you. Expect corduroy dungarees for weekends, peasant blouses for the office and skinny scarves to be on the shop shelves come Autumn. Fringed apparel isn't going anywhere either, with fringed waistcoats and capes taking centre stage.

MODERNIST

One of Elle's most stand-out trends for this season was what they dubbed the 'Modernist'. For a change, this doesn't mean mute or dark colours for the winter months. Hooray! Instead, it's a fresh injection of bursts of colour infused with bold clean lines. Print goes optical, fabric gets more extreme and shapes are strict. If you ever need cheering up on a drab winter's day, then this is the trend for you.

THE SIREN

If there was one stand-out colour trend on the catwalks of AW15, then it was certainly red. Scarlet, traffic light, crimson, ketchup - whatever you call it, all the big fashion houses were getting in on the action. Dior, Marni and Fendi in particular were working the hue from head-to-toe, cutting some of the boldest figures of the season in the process. Again, a refreshing colour for deepest, darkest winter so we're 100% on board. And if you don't want to wear all of it but still want some of the action, just grab your favourite red lipstick colour and let your pout do the talking!

GLITTER GIRL

No matter what your age, there's something about sequins and glitter that we just love. After seasons of pared-back plainness and muted tones, injecting a bit of fun into fashion is just what the doctor ordered. Expect to see LBDs adorned with sequins and heels shimmering in glitter for the forthcoming season, taking inspiration from the likes of Proenza Schouler, Rodarte and Julie de Libran. Perfect for the party season...

DARK VICTORIANA

If colour, graphics and glitter isn't your thing, fear not. Another key trend for AW15 harks back to the Victorian ages, creating a darkly decadent theme for the season. Expect lots of black and an array of textured fabrics, complete with frilled details and floor-skimming lengths - the perfect way to take hold of the darker side of fashion this winter. Want to take another approach to it? Wear a black sheer top with a black bra on show underneath for a modern update on this classic trend.
