BLUEBELLA GETS FESTIVE

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS...

Read on to find out what we love doing at Christmas...

We're beginning to get very excited as the festive frivolities start to begin! Whether you're a Christmas party animal or prefer chilled out Mulled wine time with friends, there's so much to do in the run up to Christmas. Here's some of our top tips on how to get the most from the festive time...

GET CHRISTMAS INTERIOR SAVVY

Feel like you need a decoration overhaul... fed up of silver tinsel and hand-me-down fairy lights? Time to get creative this Christmas and there's so many ways you can do. Red Magazine has lots of tips on how to make the most of festive design, such as getting crafty with making your own candles, Christmas stockings and wreath. Plus, they're not as hard as they sound! Check out the full article here.

MAKE IT A FOODIE CHRISTMAS

If you've pulled the short straw and are hosting this year, then don't fret. This is your opportunity to have Christmas exactly how you want... no playing by anybody else's rules - this is your day! Start by carefully planning out the menu as soon as you can and feel confident with what you're going to be cooking. If there's anything you haven't tried before, you can't beat a Sunday session pre-Christmas road-testing the recipe out on a willing partner or friend (plus, it just means more excuses to treat yourself to good food!). Nigella Lawson has some sumptuous Christmas recipes that are sure to keep everyone happy and of course, most importantly, make sure everybody brings a bottle!

FESTIVE FAIRS

Nothing quite beats the warm smell of mulled wine on crisp, cold nights and Christmas markets are now central to pre-Christmas buzz up and down the country. With many of them getting bigger and busier, how do you find the best places to rest your feet after a busy day's shopping? One of our favourite places in London is Belgravia. Its charming cobbles are transformed into a winter wonderland, with a handful of festive events taking place across Pimlico Road and Elizabeth Street. It's the perfect place to meet up with friends for a truly festive experience and you avoid the big crowds of Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland!

GETTING THOSE GIFTS

You can either love it or hate it but you can't escape it... Christmas shopping is part and parcel of the whole festive experience. With many of London's pavements just too much of an ordeal to deal with, try some of the hidden gems that we recommend here and you're sure to find some amazing gifts. Broadway Market is great for quirky and kitsch gifts, Camden Passage is perfect to find something special for antique and vintage lovers and in West, Marylebone High Street is only a ten minute walk from Bond Street but has an array of cool, classy shops that are sure to find you something good enough to give.
For the best Christmas shopping experience, make sure you sit back, relax and head over to ourChristmas Gift Guide to find your ultimate gift!

BLUEBELLA'S BARCELONA

BLUEBELLA'S BARCELONA BEST BITES...

Tempted to enter our Barcelona giveaway? Here's why...

As part of our #bluebellaloves series, we're running our biggest ever giveaway and giving one lucky Bluebella fan a weekend away to the Catalonian capital of culture, Barcelona! Think of it as a pre-Christmas treat to yourself! But why did we pick Barcelona? Not only because Bluebella and Barcelona has lots in common - we're both exciting, spirited and beautiful - but also because Barcelona is packed full of amazing things to do.
Here we run down our best bites of Barcelona and after you've read it, we guarantee that you'll be more than tempted to enter our giveaway!

HOTEL PULITZER

Our giveaway wouldn't be a proper giveaway without an ultra chic hotel for you to relax and unwind in and Hotel Pulitzer is one of our favourites. Being a destination in its own right, the boutique hotel is nestled in the heart of buzzing Barcelona, a stone's throw away from Plaza Catalunya. With an awesome location surrounded by the best cultural attractions and the most exclusive shopping, it's also at the hub of the city's transport network making it super easy to get around. Make sure you enjoy the hotel's bar and terrace before you head out to paint the town red.

FILL UP ON TAPAS

It may sound cliche, but Barcelona really does offer some of the best Tapas in the world. If you're a foodie aficionado, then you'll love the array of local cuisine, fine wines and sloshes of Sangria. As in any place away from home, it's always better do it like the locals and some of the best you'll taste are hidden gems tucked away where the tourists don't see them. Top choices include Morryssom, which is always packed full of locals enjoying the late afternoon sunshine (the best time is after the lunchtime rush) and Tossa. Even though the latter is located near the Sagrada Familia church, it's never busy with tourists and its relaxing terrace provides the perfect place to rest your weary legs after a long day's walking.

EXPLORE THE RAVAL

If you're into literary, then Barcelona has lots of history. Many a writer has been inspired by the lower Raval, which was once the underworld of the city. Now it's full of hipsters and even though it still retains its historic past, it is now a hub for urban culture, music and good food. Here is where some of the city's essential cultural nourishment thrives, including Barcelona's Contemporary Culture Centre, the city's Contemporary Art museum and the library. If you want to mix with the trendiest locals, then this is the area for you.

MUSIC LOVERS

If you love live music, then Barcelona caters from everyone; from classic concerts to the best festivals. It boasts some of the most wonderful, breathtaking concert halls in Europe, including the Gran Teatre del Liceu which is decorated with luxurious gold leaf, plush red carpets and ornate carvings. A tip is to check out the programmes as shows aren't always as expensive as you think. The Palau de la Musica Catalana is another must visit, celebrated for its modernist architecture. However, if you're more of a festival kinda girl, then Primavera Sound and Sonar are two of the biggest, internationally renowned music festivals in the world. There really is tons to choose from!

BARCELONA WITH A VIEW

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city then heading upwards to one of Barcelona's many viewing points will allow you to breath in all of Barcelona in all of its glory. Many restaurants, parks and monuments provide vista points where you can take everything in from above and allow for a full picture of just how colourful and vibrant the city is. If you want to head where there's less tourists, head to Mountjuic Mountain which is the perfect place for a leafy stroll and stunning views.

THE BLUEBELLA BAR EDIT

BECAUSE WE LOVE A GOOD COCKTAIL OR TWO...

Wherever you are in the country, there's always a new watering hole to try...

Now that the nights are drawing in, there's nothing better than cosying up with good friends and a bottle of wine. Whether you have your trusted local or like to experiment with different places, we've got the low-down of the tried and tested bars up and down the country that you may not have thought about before. Here's your pick...

LONDON

Quirky pub Flight Club opened in the City last month so if you're into your hot new openings then this is the one for you. This new beer hub is a modern twist on the old pub with its bar-like spaciousness and trendy decor, but has taken the favourite pub past-time of darts as inspiration for its overall theme. If you think darts is an old man's game then think again! Flight Club aims to revolutionise the tradition and has kitted out the whole place with huge dart boards and slick touchboard screens. Even if you don't fancy a game, there's always the cocktail menu to keep you amused...

LEEDS

The Wardrobe is by far one of the city's gems. A firm favourite with locals who know all about where to go, this bar transforms into a live music venue at night and plays host to the likes of Soul, Motown and Jazz artists. Perfect for after-work drinks, it has a inviting and relaxed ambience and has a gorgeous array of wines. Its food is just as famous as its music with the aptly named Soul Kitchen to wet your appetite, serving classic dishes from the deep South, Caribbean and Creole. You'll end up finding yourself there all night!

MANCHESTER

If you want some fun, then Manchester's new The Wash House is definitely for you. As the name suggests, it is actually a working launderette but don't be fooled! If you know where to go and what to say, you'll actually be led beyond the washing machines and tumble dryers into the secret cocktail bar at the back. The tip is to look out for the old phone and press the button.. you'll then be led into the exclusive bar at the back. Serving an array of moreish cocktails, The Wash House is not only one of the coolest bars around, its mysterious and fun entrance makes it all the more exclusive. We dare you...

BATH

If you're after a chic and stylish place to have a catch-up with friends, then Bath's trendy Circo Bar is the perfect place to head for a post-Saturday shop drink. Mixing the old and the new, it's lush decor oozes class with cool grey tones and luxurious Chesterfields and has contemporary classics on the soundtrack for a chilled-out vibe. Having recently extended its capacity, it now includes a low-lit cellar bar and features one of the most expensive back bars in Bath.

EDINBURGH

This relatively new bar is situated in an old Victorian Pump House and is in the heart of Edinburgh's gorgeous Old Town. Bursting with character, it keeps Scottish tradition by serving the best Whiskeys for spirit lovers (over 200 different varieties!) If you'd rather not taste the burn, then they have an extensive cocktail menu with inventive creations such as Days in Velour and Rogue Trader (which we hear are tasty!) We love Edinburgh and when we're next there, we'll be heading here...

THE FEMALE SINGERS WE'RE LOVING

THE BLUEBELLA HQ PLAYLIST

Who are we listening to at the moment? Delve into our playlist...

The music scene seems to be in its element at the moment, with so many emerging new artists from the UK and around the world blowing everyone away with their talent. What we've noticed lately is that there seems to be more and more female artists - from singers to DJs and bands - who are taking the industry by storm. And we are totally for that. Following on from Haim's recent comment that they want to start an all-girl festival to celebrate girl power, here's a look at which girls we've got on our playlist...

SHURA

Shura is definitely one of our favourite emerging artists of the year so far and she has won us over with her soulful, tropical-infused R 'n' B. Born and raised in Manchester, she has always had an appetite for music and is now based in London as a singer/songwriter/producer. Having spent the summer performing at some of the UK's top festivals, including Bestival and Latitude, she is fast amassing a huge fanbase. We recently saw her perform at Electric Brixton and she was A-MAZING live. Definitely check her out!

HAIM

The loveable American sister act Haim kick-started their band in 2006 after growing up in the Californian sun with diverse influences from The Beatles to Motown. Their album 'Days Are Gone' released in 2013 saw the girls rocket up the music ladder and they've shown no signs of slowing down. Since then, their 'new age' pop sounds have a real feel good vibe about them and they have been touring the world, appearing at all the need-to-know festivals such as Glastonbury and Coachella. They're also championing women in music and that's something we love.

LAPSLEY

This 18-year-old British singer/songwriter is powering through the music scene at the moment with her delicate electronic sounds. After performing on the BBC's Introducing stage at Glastonbury last year, Lapsley has been one of the most highly-tipped artists of the year. Taking things slow however, she has released a couple of EPs - most recently debuting her new single 'Hurt Me' on Annie Mac's Radio 1 show. We love her incredible, emotional vocals mixed with soft electronic beats.

SIA

Sia has, of course, got a beautiful voice but we rarely get to see her face. Sia is all about the vocals and her rise to fame led her to protect her personal life and image closely. Whilst shying away from videos, album and magazine covers to performing with her back to the audience (yes, really!), her endearing qualities make us love her even more. After a rollercoaster of music ups and downs, Sia is finally in a direction of success as she has written hit tracks for the likes of Beyonce and Celine Dion, whilst flourishing with her own singing career too. She's just released 'Alive', which we love.

FOXES

Louisa Rose Allen goes by the name of Foxes and is a singer/songwriter from the UK. She quickly rose to fame after featuring on Zedd's UK hit 'Clarity', which took the electronic dance scene by storm. After releasing hit albums over the past two years, Foxes is now the face of H&M Loves Music 2015 campaign and has been playing live around the country. If she comes to near you, we definitely recommend paying her a visit!

THE TOP THINGS TO DO THIS AUTUMN

WHAT AUTUMNAL ACTIVITIES WILL YOU BE DOING?

We We delve into what's hot around the country for the Fall...

As the weather gets colder and the days shorter, it's too tempting to spend endless evenings and weekends lounging around in the warmth of your own home. However, we're here to dispel that temptation and get you out enjoying what Britain does best... culture! As the new season sweeps in, lots of activities can be found around the country so whether you're in London or Edinburgh, living in the city or fancy a day trip to one, here's some of our top picks...

LONDON

If fashion and textiles are your thing, then we recommend you get down to the capital's Liberty in Fashion exhibition being held at, you guessed it, the Fashion & Textile Museum in South London. The exhibition explores the impact that Liberty, the esteemed department store central to London's shopping life, has had on British fashion right from the 19th Century through to the modern day. It has over 150 garments, textiles and objects showing the relationship they have with many key designers including Vivienne Westwood and Yves Saint Laurent. This is not one to be missed and is running right through until February 2016.
Further info is available at www.ftmlondon.org.

EDINBURGH

If you're a foodie and around the Scottish capital as of today (8th October) then you are in for a treat. With Edinburgh having a vibrant dining scene, organisers have taken it to the next level by bringing locals the Edinburgh Restaurant Festival, which runs for 10 days. Over the course of its duration, some of the city's most loved restaurants will be offering three course lunches for £15 and three course dinners for £25. What's more, it's jam packed with events such as the city's first ever street food pop-up, which is a carefully selected offering of street food, culture and local DJs. If it involves food in one of the UK's most beautiful cities, then we're booking a train now!
Further info is available at thisisedinburgh.com.

LEEDS

If you're in Yorkshire and a lover of contemporary art then the British Art Show 8 is the perfect place to see all of the best contemporary art produced in the UK in one place. 42 artists will be showcasing their work, new and old, making it one of the most ambitious shows the UK art world has ever seen. Based at the Leeds Art Gallery in the city centre, it takes place from 9th October - 10th January 2016. The show only takes place once every 5 years and it's the first time it has come to Leeds so if you are in the area, it's definitely worth heading down!
Further information is available at leeds.gov.uk.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                BRISTOL

Bristol is a gorgeous city and a perfect one for weekend getaways. If you're not too busy at the city's famous spas, then the Circus City festival is taking place across Bristol in October. It includes an eclectic mix of brilliant shows, talks, masterclasses and workshops in various places around the city. Mixing everything from circus, dance, theatre, comedy and puppetry, it certainly has something for everyone. Also focusing on home-grown talent, it is the perfect way to get to know the more creative side of Bristol.
Further information is available atbristolcitycircus.com.

LIVERPOOL

In true Liverpool fashion this Autumn, head to the birth place of The Beatles, the city's most famous exports, to celebrate their music in style. If you're in the Merseyside area, the West End musical kicks off today until 14th November at Liverpool's Royal Court theatre. The musical has so far seen huge international success so it only seems right that the show is heading to where The Beatles made humble beginnings, and the show charters their spectacular rise to fame. Made even more special because of its location, whether you're a die hard fan or not, it's simply worth going to soak up some of Liverpool's rich history.

NEW SEASON LINGERIE UPDATES

AS AUTUMN ARRIVES, WILL YOU BE UPDATING YOUR LINGERIE DRAWER?

A new season is always a good excuse for a new wardrobe and a new lingerie drawer...

Even though summer's been and gone, there's nothing quite like the excitement of a new, Autumnal season as leaves start to fall, countless cosy nights in with wine are completely acceptable and of course, a new wardrobe is almost a necessity. But what about your underwear drawer? A transition into a new season is the perfect time to give your lingerie the refresh it needs.
Here we run down some of our key AW15 products and hopefully help you decide which ones to pick!

INES

The Ines collection has only been available on Bluebella.com for a few weeks but it's already proving a huge hit with our fashionista friends, with world-renowned bloggers such as Charlotte Martin and Sasimb styling it up in incredible fashion (check out our Instagram page!)
The Ines bra is a bold, stand-out style with dramatic guipure lace encased in a triangle structured and finished off with luxurious velvet. Team it with the Ines brief or if you're feeling more daring, opt for theOuvet brief. It's deliciously provocative yet stylishly feminine and is adorned with a beautiful lace trim at the front. AND, if you want to complete the whole look, the Ines Harness is the ultimate way to bring to life any fantasies you might have...

CHRISTABEL

Fancy a touch of ravenous red in your lingerie collection? The Christabel arrived last week and is going to be one of the key styles for the season. Playful yet provocative, this style continues the guipure lace theme but this time in a quarter cup fashion, allowing you to stylishly show off your curves. Complete with lace droplets structuring the front and a satin back band finishing off the back, this is a bra designed not to be hidden!
Complete the look with the Christabel Brazilianbrief, which is adorned in decadent lace and sumptuous satin at the front but contrasted at the back with a stylish sheer mesh.

NOVA

If you follow us on Instagram, you'll no doubt have noticed the many times that this bra has sent the Internet into meltdown! One of our best sellers of the summer, how could we not continue it for the next season?! Loved by our fashion friends, including the likes of Nyane Lebajoa, Natali Miru, Manara Isabela and many more, the Nova's ouvert cups framed with intricate floral motifs have proved to be a style that many of you want in your drawer. Finished off with a trio of delicate straps over each shoulder and a subtle diamante at the front, this is a treat too good to cover up!
Team with either the Nova brief or thong, with the former staying true to the style's name with a delicate ouvert style at the back, completed with carefully constructed fashion-forward strapping.

SELENA

If you're wanting a more laid-back style for the Autumn, then look no further than the Selena. Inspired by sports-luxe style, the bandeau bra is made out of stylish, sheer mesh that is perfect for those days where you want a more casual-chic look. Black in colour and finished off with simple strapping, it's a style that you can wear either staying in or going out - we love. As a bra set, it comes with matching Selena briefs so you can finish the look off in style.

GIOVANNA

If there was ever a bra made for the party season, then this would most definitely be it. Combining sensual red, moulded cups and sheer mesh, theGiovanna is a bold and stand-out style designed for those who want to make a real statement with their underwear. The moulded red cups are overlaid with classic sheer mesh and the structured framework of the bra effortlessly holds it all together. The final detail is the cut-out at the front, which subtly allows you to show off some skin.
Opt to complete the look with either the Giovanna brief or thong - the favourite of ours being the latter, as the edgy, two-tiered straps create a fashion-forward finish to the whole collection.
